(FeaturedNews.com) – On Wednesday, the Biden Administration’s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas spoke about the “immediate need” to construct a wall along the southern border in Texas, citing the large surge in illegal migration. Former President Donald Trump slammed this announcement and argued that the only reason why a wall was immediately needed was because President Biden had allowed the country to be “invaded” by illegal migrants. He further warned that there were “terrorists” in the U.S. already.
The DHS has recorded over 245,000 migrant encounters in the Rio Grande Valley Sector so far this year, which is why they believe the construction of a wall was justified.
Shortly after the DHS’ announcement, Trump stated during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital that President Biden was to blame for blocking the border wall from being built, which is what created a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The 2024 Republican presidential candidate stated that Biden can see that the U.S. is being “invaded.” He then questioned what actions he would take to deal with the 15 million people from mental institutions, prisons, and terrorists who have already entered the U.S.
Border Patrol has arrested a record number of people entering the country who are on the FBI’s terror watchlist in FY 23. So far this year there are 151 arrests, while in FY 2022 there had been 98 arrests and in FY 21 there had been 15 arrests. The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) is the database used by the government to store “sensitive information on terrorist identities.” The list includes information about both suspected and known terrorists and has over the last decade included the names of people who are considered to be a high threat to the United States.
