(FeaturedNews.com) – On Tuesday, former President Trump blasted Florida governor Ron DeSantis for his battle against Disney during a time when a landlord is facing an expensive battle against squatters.
In recent weeks, DeSantis’ battle with Disney, which has been ongoing for over a year, has escalated greatly. The company-controlled board passed an agreement before leaving their positions that effectively negated the Florida law that was meant to remove the company’s self-governing authority. Following this move, the governor requested his chief inspector to examine whether it would be possible for the land next to Disney to be used for a prison.
Trump criticized this entire situation by posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, claiming that “DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney.” He then added that after his initial plan failed, he is now trying to come up with a new plan that would enable him to “save face.” He proceeded to write that instead of his focus on Disney, he should instead try to focus on fixing “the squatter MESS.”
While Trump did not indicate exactly which situation he is referring to, in a recent Fox News report, a Florida landlord pointed out that she needed assistance from the governor as squatters have been occupying her house for 34 days and have caused $38,000 in damages. This led to Patti Peeples, 61, to push for DeSantis to change the law so that squatters and tenants could be distinguished.
