(FeaturedNews.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Monday to state that he was going to be watching the Republican primary debate to decide which of the candidates he “might” pick as his vice President. Trump is currently the frontrunner in the Republican primary race, and he has previously stated that he would not participate in the primary debates as he is leading the race by more than double digits.
As he wrote in his post, he wanted to see the candidates’ debate so that he would consider who could possibly make a good choice for Vice President. Trump continues to be a very popular figure in the Republican party especially among conservative voters.
Many of the other GOP candidates have struggled with finding a balance between criticizing the former President and at the same time differentiating themselves and their policies enough so as to draw new voters in. Still, there is also the fear that attacking Trump too much might cause them to alienate a large portion of the Republican base.
One of the things that many of the challengers have opposed him on though is his decision to not participate in the first primary debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is usually in second place in the primary polls, argued during an appearance on The Howie Carr Show there was nobody who was “entitled to this nomination.”
While the Republican primary is still a few months away, many observers have started to consider who Trump might consider as his running mate and Vice President.
