(FeaturedNews.com) – On Friday, Trump claimed that because he is leading the polls for the 2024 GOP primary, he is under “total assault.”

During an interview with his former advisor Steve Bannon on “War Room,” Trump stated that because he is “winning” the polls he is under “total assault.” He proceeded to then attack Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) who is believed to be his biggest competition for the 2024 GOP nomination, despite not having joined the presidential race yet.

Trump, who often refers to the Florida governor as “Ron DeSanctimonious,” states that “DeSanctis is failing badly.” In the past few weeks, Trump has managed to grow his lead against DeSantis. As of Thursday, according to the polling average from FiveThirtyEight, Trump was leading by 27 points. In an Emerson College poll from earlier this week, Trump appeared to be leading by 45 points.

On this, Trump commented that “it’s amazing what being 40 down does.” He then proceeded to claim that DeSantis’s donors were switching sides and leaving him. He further added that the donors are starting to call him because they have seen what is happening in the polls.

According to a number of reports that came out this past week, DeSantis is planning on launching his presidential campaign in May or June. On Thursday, he noted that he had not yet made any decisions regarding his presidential announcement during a press conference in Israel. He added that any sources claiming to know things are making “inaccurate” claims as he has not yet made any decisions.
