(FeaturedNews.com) – Over the past weekend, former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had a private meeting. This is the first time that the two men have met following the heated Republican primary race during which the two would often take jabs at one another.

The meeting was said to have been organized by Steve Witkoff, a Florida real estate investor, who invited the two men to his Shell Bay Club. The two reportedly talked about possible joint fundraising efforts, while also talking about Desantis’s commitment to assisting Trump as he is heading toward the general presidential race where he will be facing President Biden.

During the conversation, DeSantis is said to have expressed commitment to assisting Trump win back the White House. The meeting is said to have ended with the two of them shaking hands.

On Monday, Trump stated regarding the meeting in a post on his social media platform Truth Social that it had been a “great meeting” and that he was glad to have seen DeSantis’ enthusiasm in helping him win back the White House. As he pointed out, the main focus of the conversation was how the two of them could work together to help “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.” He added that they also talked about Florida’s future which was “FANTASTIC.”

Trump also expressed his appreciation for DeSantis’ help to win back the country against President Biden who he dubbed the worst U.S. President in history. While Trump could win Florida without DeSantis’ support, the Florida governor’s network of donors could be useful in the presidential race.
