Trump Strangely “Attacks” Top Republican

Former President Trump made many Republicans angry after he spoke against Joe O’Dea, the GOP’s Senate nominee in Colorado. This move has led to many Republicans questioning if the former President truly cares about the GOP winning the upper chamber.

O’Dea, a pro-abortion rights moderate, is currently fighting Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.). In this race, Democrats have spent $4 million against O’Dea.

Trump’s recent comments have also now led to many Republicans worrying that O’Dea will not be able to pull a win.

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Trump ally, has said that Trump’s move was not helpful and that it would not be good to see O’Dea lose to Bennet just because Donald Trump told Republicans that they should not vote. He also added that it would be particularly bad if Republicans ended up one senator away from the majority.

Cramer stated that if [Sen.] Mitch McConnell [R-Ky.] had also blasted all of the Republican nominees that had made statements against him, then the GOP would not even come close to winning. Cramer also said that the nation should come above the individual in these cases.

Trump took to his Truth Social website to call O’Dea a RINO, or a Republican in name only. He also said that MAGA doesn’t support or vote for those “stupid people with big mouths.”

This statement was made after O’Dea announced that if the former President were to run again, he would not support him.

O’Dea is believed to be one of the best Senate recruits by the GOP for this midterm. Still, he has a long way to go if he is to defeat the two-term incumbent, Bennet.
