(FeaturedNews.com) – On Wednesday, Jewish students at Cooper Union, a college in New York City, locked themselves inside the school library in order to stay protected as anti-Israel protesters moved through the college’s building.

Those participating in the pro-Palestinian rally were banking the doors and windows as they moved through the halls shouting “free, free Palestine.” The instance was also caught on video.

Another video was shared online of the Jewish students who were locked in the library during the protest. In one of the videos from the protest, the protesters were just outside the library as the Jewish students were trying to study. In a different video, the students are separated by glass and the protesters are holding up signs that call for the end of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Israeli Consulate of New York former media director Jake Novak took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that around 5 p.m. on Wednesday there were multiple Jewish students that were locked in the college’s library. In his post, he added that the Jewish students were afraid to exit the library because of the “Hamas rally” that was taking place outside the library doors. He further alleged that the police had been called to the scene but that they were too scared to take action.

Novak also shared the video of the students in the library and stated in his post that Security had locked them in the library as they were afraid that they could not keep the Jewish students safe at this time.
