(FeaturedNews.com) – A new video has swiftly been going viral on TikTok amassing more than 1.1. million views. The video was first shared by user Kandace H (@kandace_h) from Oregon’s Portland International Airport after she was “kicked off” an Alaska Airlines flight traveling from Portland to Las Vegas after she had a “mimosa.”
A spokesperson for the airline told Newsweek that the passenger that was removed had “exhibited concerning behavior during the pre-boarding process,” and that she had been requested to leave the aircraft “due to safety concerns.” They added that once those concerns were resolved, a different flight was booked for the passenger so that they could reach their intended destination. They added that “at Alaska, safety is our top priority,” and that the crew is specifically trained to be able to make decisions that will help ensure the safety of all those aboard the flight.
The user who posted the video captioned it: “SPREAD THE WORD! @alaskaair “THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE !! I AM LIVID !!! The flight attendants on flight #714 from Portland to Vegas need to be fired !! I was BLATANTLY lied on & removed from the plane…”
In the video, the woman claimed that she had been kicked off the plane as the plane was “about to take off.” Allegedly, she stated that a flight attendant had approached her and told her she would need to “get off the plane” after she had told a different staff member “Oh I’m drunk, shhhh,” along with a gesture meant to demonstrate staying quiet.
In November 2021, a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration report had shown that year there had been close to 300 reports of passenger disturbances caused by alcohol and intoxication. The FAA also noted that “the boarding of a passenger who appears to be intoxicated” is a violation of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
