(FeaturedNews.com) – Following the National Baseball Hall of Fame results, there was one single player announced on Jan. 24 to have been inducted in. Scott Rolen, a player for the Cincinnati Reds who had a very successful 17-season career, in an emotional video, shares the news with his parents.

The video was posted on Twitter by the Cincinnati Reds and it features the emotional reactions of his parents. At the start of the video, Rolen lets his mother know that he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame before hugging her. He then proceeds to hug his father who appears to be thrilled by the news.

Rolen had previously played for the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Toronto Blue Jays, and has often spoken about how happy his parents would be by the honor of having their son in the Hall of Fame.

Rolen had told The Philadelphia Inquirer in 2020 that he could see just how emotional his parents had gotten when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He added that this is how he knew just how much it would mean for both his mother and father to have their son in the Hall of Fame. He added that his parents had done an exceptional job at raising him and his siblings.

Rolen was also an eight-time Gold Glove winner, seven-time All-Star, and the National League Rookie of the Year with the Phillies in 1997. He has previously said that what you think about when playing is not the accolades, but rather playing the best you can for your team.
