(FeaturedNews.com) – On September 5, TikTok user @johnkrajewski posted on the platform a now-viral video of a dog that managed to escape from her crate while taking a six-hour flight. Since the video was posted it has gathered more than 1.5 million views.
As can be seen in the video, the dog is standing close to the door of the airplane which appears to belong to Alaska Airlines.
The crew revealed that the Shiba Inu which is named Sputnik was waiting by the door as if for the red carpet when the aircraft door opened. Each airline has its own set of rules and regulations regarding the transportation of pets which also affects whether or not the pet is able to travel in the aircraft cabin with their owner. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that depending on the regulations one’s pet might travel in the cargo hold or in the cabin.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has also noted that cats and small dogs are usually allowed in the cabin, but there are still some airlines that might not allow them to be transported as special baggage in the cabin.
The message that overlaid the clip posted by @johnkrajewski noted that his dog had managed to chew the metal lock and zip ties to escape her kennel. All of this had been done while she had had a full dose of sedatives.
In another message, he shared how this was during a six-hour flight across the country and that there was no way of knowing during which part of the flight she had managed to escape from her kennel and start roaming free in the baggage compartment.
