(FeaturedNews.com) – On Tuesday, Biden met with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Oval Office. The two discussed key issues including the situation in Ukraine and the Indo-Pacific trade. During the press conference following the meeting, President Joe Biden appeared to smile following a question about the classified documents that had been found in his private office and home.
At the end of the press conference, the reporters started shouting questions at Biden regarding the classified documents. One specific question inquired whether Biden was committing to speaking with the special counsel assigned to his question. It was during that question that Biden was caught briefly smiling.
Last week, the Attorney General announced that Robert Hur was appointed as special counsel overlooking the case relating to the Obama administration documents that were found in Biden’s possession. There were three different batches of documents found. The first batch was discovered in a private office that Biden had used between 2017 and 2019 in Washington, D.C. The other two batches were found in Biden’s home in Delaware.
According to the reports the first batch of documents had been discovered in November, while the second one was found in December. This has led to many questions from Republicans who have been curious as to why the information about the classified documents was not made public immediately. Many have also compared the handling of Biden’s case, to Trump’s case concerning the classified documents recovered by the FBI from the former President’s Mar-a-Lago home. Both cases are currently being investigated by the Department of Justice.
