(FeaturedNews.com) – A shallow fake video of Vice President Kamala Harris has garnered more than five million views since its posting, sparking conversations and debates online as to whether or not the video was real or not.

In the video, Harris can be seen making another one of the world salads that she has become known for, rambling on the word “today.” However, the video is fake. The edited footage appears to be a case of shallow fake, meaning that the footage was altered through editing software to make the source material appear different than it was originally.

The footage used for the creation of the fake videos was taken during the Vice President’s speech at Howard University on April 25, 2023, where she spoke about the importance of reproductive rights.

In the shallow fake video, Harris states: “Today is today, and yesterday is today yesterday. Tomorrow will be today tomorrow, so live today so the future today will be as the past today, as it is tomorrow.”

The audio is taken from a TikTok user who is known for impersonating Harris. The original video with the impersonation had gained 862,000 views since its posting. The creator in question also posted the shallow fake in her account after it gained popularity.

Legal experts are not entirely clear on what steps can legally be taken to deal with videos like these when they emerge.
