(FeaturedNews.com) – A 2012 receipt from Taco Bell has gone viral as many people have pointed out how inflation had made everything a lot more expensive.
On Tuesday, LovelyOcean, a TikTok user and aspiring rapper, shared how she had found her Taco Bell receipt for $2.59 for two beefy five-layer burritos. She proceeded to question where things had gone wrong.
In the video, the user said in the tag that they were so upset as they were not even able to justify going to Taco Bell anymore because of the price now. The video has gathered more than 647,000 views.
In response to the complaints about the current pricing, Taco Bell put out a new Cravings Value Menu, which includes 10 items from the menu that can be bought for $3 or less. The selection includes Loaded Beef Nachos, the Stacker, and the Double Stacked Taco all of which are under $3.
Taylor Montgomery, the Chief Marketing Officer of Taco Bell, stated that the consumers were looking for additional areas that they could save in. He added that the company was committed to delivering new menu items and new methods of saving.
The video led to many online users discussing the price hikes and inflation over the last decade.
In the past few years, the Biden administration has had to deal with the highest inflation rates of the past few years. In 2022 inflation hit a peak at 9.1 percent. Since then, inflation has dropped to 3.4 percent in December.
