(FeaturedNews.com) – A new video has been going viral on TikTok after a pilot captured the incredible view from the sky and posted it on the platform. The video has received more than 189,000 views since it was posted on August 7 by Pilot Simona, whose TikTok bio states that she is an airline pilot.
The footage shows the breathtaking view from the cockpit as the plane is flying through clouds that look like endless cotton candy.
In the message overlay, the video notes that the pilot had seen more than 10 rainbows the previous day and that she believes this is how heaven would look.
U.S. News in their annual ranking of the “100 Best Jobs” had a pilot profession as No. 48. It was also No. 4 on the “Best Social Service Jobs” and No. 10 on the “Best Paying Jobs.” The median salary for pilots is $134,630 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Despite this, there is currently a pilot shortage as air travel has not returned to its pre-pandemic levels. Still, the shortage of pilots has meant that the industry is having a hard time satisfying the demands for flights.
In April, Regional Airline Association President and CEO Faye Malarkey Black warned a U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee that in the next 15 years there would be a large number of commercial airline pilots that will be made to retire as they reach the age of 65. As she pointed out, there are 70 percent more pilots that are currently 43 to 64 years old than those between the ages of 21 and 42.
