(FeaturedNews.com) – New footage from John F. Kennedy International Airport has shocked everyone. In the video that was captured by flight monitoring software in audio and GPS, two aircraft appear to nearly collide as one is readying for take off while the other one is crossing the runway. The incident is currently under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Still, the video has been making the rounds, and users on both TikTok and Instagram have been shocked by how close to turning into a full-blown accident this incident was. Many are also quick to praise the Air Traffic Control Team for responding so fast and managing to avoid what could have been a big disaster.

In the video, a Delta Boeing 737, with 145 passengers and six crew members was preparing to take off from the New York airport, at the exact same time an American Boeing 777 with 137 passengers and 14 crew members was also preparing to take off and head to London.

The two were heading toward each other but the Delta Airlines flight 1943 was quickly ordered to stop by the air traffic controller. This is the only reason that they managed to avoid hitting American Airlines flight 106.

The incident occurred on Friday at around 8.45 p.m. local time. The FAA has released a statement in which they wrote that the Boeing 737 operated by Delta Air Lines, had managed to safely stop on Runway 4 when the air traffic controllers noticed that a different aircraft was also crossing the runway at the exact same time.
