(FeaturedNews.com) – A 23-year-old woman from Seattle, Washington has gone viral over her decision to start meal prepping for the family’s Christmas meal months in advance.
Gubba Homestead who lives on a 30-acre farm started the preparations in late summer when she harvested the vegetables from her garden. She then proceeded to can the veggies so that she could have them during the holidays.
As she pointed out, late summer was the harvest season and from there, everything not consumed needed to be preserved and prepared so that it could be used later. As she revealed, she had originally grown up in a big city, but with the current technique she is using, she is able to prepare the Christmas dinner essentially for free.
As she told SWNS, she was against spending $500 for Christmas dinner in the way she had previously done and argued that this way the meal was free and only required her time. She then revealed that she had originally moved from a big city to the farm right after the pandemic. She started to learn about harvesting and preserving her vegetables and fruits in order to prepare for any other possible disasters the world might face.
Homestead shared that she had multiple fruit trees, including apple, tangerine, cherry, peach, and pear trees. She also grows several kinds of berries including blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. In terms of vegetables, she grows and harvests corn, potatoes, and carrots.
Apart from food, she will also preserve flowers, branches, and pine which she then uses in order to create decorations for the holiday period.
