(FeaturedNews.com) – President Joe Biden confirms that he won’t pardon or commute the sentence of Hunter Biden.
On Thursday, in his first public comments since his son Hunter Biden was convicted on felony gun charges, President Biden confirmed he wouldn’t be pardoning Hunter or commuting his sentence.
While alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the G7 summit in Fasano, Italy, Biden said that while he is “extremely proud” of Hunter and his ability to “overcome an addiction,” he wouldn’t “do anything,” and would “abide by the jury’s decision.”
The President’s son faces up to 25 years in prison after his conviction on Tuesday.
Last week, before the guilty verdict in Hunter Biden’s federal trial, President Joe Biden said in an interview on ABC News’ “World News Tonight” that he wouldn’t be pardoning Hunter if the jury returned with a guilty verdict in any of his federal trials, including the felony gun trial and tax evasion trial in September.
The President also replied “no” when a reporter queried whether he would be commuting Hunter’s sentence.
President Biden’s response was more definitive than the answer the White House gave on Wednesday.
While aboard Air Force One en route to Italy, White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre was asked about the potential of Hunter Biden’s sentence being commuted.
Jean-Pierre didn’t rule out commuting should Hunter receive prison time.
However, legal experts don’t believe the President’s son will get prison time, given he is a first-time offender.
The judge has 120 days after the verdict to determine the sentencing.
