(FeaturedNews.com) – New York City union members are switching their support from President Biden to former President Donald Trump according to one apprentice. This switch in their endorsements is in part related to the Biden administration’s policies regarding the economy, immigration, and energy.
Jason Murray, an apprentice at the Steamfitters union talked about the shift in the last few years as many of the union’s members appear to be moving away from the Democratic party and are considering voting for former President Trump in the November election.
On Thursday during an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Murray explained that four years ago the union had unilaterally stated they would be backing Biden. However, only a week after Biden took office there were around 10,000 workers who had been laid off and their jobs were gone. As he explained, these were the people who had been working at the pipeline, that Biden shut down the construction of. He continued by noting that these were people who were working to provide for their families and no longer had a job.
Murray pointed out that the large number of layoffs and the high inflation rates and consumer prices, along with the migrant crisis have resulted in them not being as willing to support Biden. As he pointed out, everything that Biden had said they had then turned around and done the opposite.
He even argued that New York Governor Kathy Hochul had attempted to give their work away, which has led to questions as the Democrats were looking to take jobs away from working men to give to people who do not even have legal status.
