(FeaturedNews.com) – Media teams have been preparing about a possible indictment of former President Donald Trump by setting up outside a Washington D.C. courthouse. On Sunday, the images that circulated online showed both news production vans and police officers outside of the E. Barrett Prettyman United States Courthouse.

This is the courtyard that houses the federal grand jury that is in charge of the investigation into Trump’s efforts to remain in the White House following the 2020 presidential election which ultimately led to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Caution tape has also been placed surrounding the perimeter of the courthouse.

On Monday morning, there was at least one media crew located outside the courthouse. In the past week, speculations about Trump being indicted have increased as last Tuesday Trump announced that he had been sent a “target letter” from special counsel Jack Smith informing him that he was the target of this probe. Trump has repeatedly denied all allegations of wrongdoing that are connected to Smith’s investigations. He has further argued that the indictments against him were just an attempt by the government to interfere with the 2024 presidential election.

While it is not known when a possible indictment might be announced, two days after being sent the target letter on July 16 in his Truth Social Post, Trump shared that as per the content of the letter he was required to appear before the grand jury within four days. As many have pointed out this approach is likely an indication that Trump is going to be indicted in this case.

Trump did not meet the 4-day deadline specified by the letter.
