(FeaturedNews.com) – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, during a recent appearance on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” with Jonathan Capehart, responded to former President Donald Trump’s recent comments about her being responsible for the U.S. Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. Trump had made this remark during an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters stormed into the Capitol. During the Capitol riot, a total of five people lost their lives, including one Capitol police officer, while many others were injured during the riot. Following the events, two law enforcement officers also took their own lives.
Trump during his “Meet the Press” appearance claimed that Pelosi was the one responsible for the attack as she had been the one “in charge of security.”
On Sunday, Pelosi responded by stating that Trump “has always been about projection,” and that he projects onto others things that he knows he is responsible for. She added that he was the one who had instigated the Capitol riot but he chose to project instead of accepting responsibility.
She further claimed that Trump has alleged that Pelosi had rejected his offer to send troops, but she argued that the truth was that they had begged him to send troops but their calls for troops had been rejected.
Trump is currently running for the White House again despite facing 91 total charges in four different cases.
