(FeaturedNews.com) – In a recent interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) mocked the idea of an impeachment inquiry against President Biden while stating that House Republicans’ efforts were “student government.”
As he pointed out, the House GOP was once again threatening that the government would be shut down only a few months after the debt ceiling debate. He then called the efforts a “joke” and that what was occurring right now was “perversity” when compared to what the Founding Fathers had envisioned for the country.
Last week, McCarthy announced that his conference would launch an official impeachment inquiry into President Biden following the House GOP’s investigations into his son, Hunter Biden, foreign business activities.
James Comer, who leads the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, and Jim Jordan who leads the House Judiciary Committee Chairman, have been investigating Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, during the time when Joe Biden was serving as Vice President.
So far, the probes have not found any evidence to show that Joe Biden has benefited financially from the business affairs of his son, or that his policy decisions were affected by them.
Newsom, during the interview, also addressed the allegations regarding Hunter and Joe Biden by stating that he does not know enough about the details of the case regarding Joe Biden joining the business calls of his son. However, as he pointed out, if this was the criteria there were many people who try to benefit from their relationships in various industries, not just in politics, and it is not something unique to this case.
