(FeaturedNews.com) – On Monday, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to attack former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and special counsel Jack Smith over his immunity claim.
In his post, Trump did not address any specific claim by Cheney and instead argued that the lawmaker generally suffered from “TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome).” He further pointed out that Cheney had been defeated for her seat in Congress by the largest margin ever for a sitting member of Congress.
He further attacked Smith in his post after the special council opposed Trump’s claims that he needed to be granted presidential immunity in the federal case against him that is dealing with Trump’s attempts to overturn the presidential election.
Trump in his post argued that the country’s “most respected legal minds” all agreed that he was entitled to immunity and that the case needed to be thrown out in the same way that those on the left had thrown out evidence. These latest comments come after Trump’s latest attack against Smith on Truth Social, in which he had also claimed that he was completely entitled to receive presidential immunity in the federal case.
Trump is currently facing two different federal cases brought forward by Smith. The first case relates to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021, while the second case is focused on Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
