(FeaturedNews.com) – The National Archives had previously dismissed reports that alleged that there were files from the Obama-Biden administration that had been mishandled only weeks before the first batch of classified documents were found in Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center on Nov. 2.
On Oct. 11, the National Archives answered a number of questions about documents from the Obama administration being securely transported to a secure and strict location. Specifically, the National Archives and Records Administration had dismissed the reports that the documents from the Obama administration had been housed in an unsecured location with the former President or their representatives.
However, following the discovery of the three batches of classified documents in Biden’s possession, many are wondering whether those locations would meet the archival and security standards set forth by the National Archives.
Still, it is important to note that the statement by the National Archives had been made three weeks before Biden’s lawyers uncovered the first batch of classified documents in his private office and months before the second and third batches were discovered in Biden’s Delaware home.
The National Archives and the Department of Justice were immediately notified of the documents that had been found and the documents were retrieved shortly after the discovery. The Department of Justice has now undertaken an investigation into the classified documents. Last week, attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to overlook the case, former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur.
