(FeaturedNews.com) – A Venezuelan migrant recently revealed to The New York Post that his stay at a “migrant hotel” was pleasant. This was only days after New York City Mayor Eric Adams stated that his state needed to declare a state of emergency because of the migrant crisis.
Miguel Mujica, the migrant from Venezuela, told the Post during an interview that they had been treated ” ell” and that there were no limitations to what they were allowed to do. As he pointed out, on Sunday, he, his wife, and children had visited the pool hotel and just swam for five hours. He proceeded to state that the pool was “very nice.”
According to the report, Mujica had crossed into the U.S. with his family from the southern border. He claimed that New York City was their goal as there are shelters in the city. The migrant added that he usually earns around $700 to $800 a week, which is around $40,000 every year. As he pointed out, this was untaxed, under-the-table work that he was doing in demolition and construction sites.
On Sunday, it was reported that around 80 adult asylum seekers would be placed in a recreation center wing. They further noted that public access to the fitness center and pool facilities would remain unimpacted by the migrants. They also stated that additional security would be placed in the center to ensure everyone’s security.
Councilwoman Vickie Paladino spoke up against the migration crisis which she argued was having a very negative impact on the quality of life of New Yorkers and stated that the situation was “out of control.”
