During an interview on “Off the Vine” podcast, Kelly revealed that at first, their relationship had not been cute and that she had a love-hate relationship with him. The wife of the Los Angeles Rams quarterback noted that she had to come up with a plan that would allow her to win over her future husband.
Kelly opened up about how in order to get his attention she had ended up dating his backup. As she said he had been a “bad boy” while Matthew was a gentleman and the complete opposite, which is why he had found the circumstance upsetting. The two were not just quarterbacks but also roommates.
As athletes often live in the same dorm room, the two had lived together, which means that Matthew would return home and see her car there. One time Matthew ended up waiting and then following and entering her car. He had then told her that the other guy was not right for him.
It is not clear who Kelly is referring to, but during Stafford’s time at the college, he had played with Joe Tereshinski, Mohamed Massaquoi, Joe Cox, and A.J. Bryant.
However, it seems like Kelly had chosen the right player to stick with, as Stafford was the 2009 No. 1 pick and following the Los Angeles Rams winning Super Bowl LVI he had gotten a lot of recognition.
