(FeaturedNews.com) – The American Research Group’s recent poll found that the approval ratings of President Joe Biden are currently lower than the ratings of the four last presidents who failed to win their reelection.
With Biden’s 2024 presidential campaign in full force, the low approval rating of the President has often been a point of discussion. While Biden had a 53.1 percent approval rating when he first took office in January 2021 it had dropped to its lowest of 38.2 percent by July 2022. For the majority of his presidency, the poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight has found that Trump has had an approval rating in the low 40s.
The recent poll was conducted between December 17 and 20 and found that only 37 percent of Americans approved of Biden’s performance in the White House, while 57 percent disapproved. The poll included the responses of 1,100 adults residing in the United States and had a 3 percentage point margin of error.
Biden’s approval rating is slightly higher in the current poll aggregations as it is at 39.3 percent.
Former Presidents Donald Trump, George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, all of whom had lost their reelection, had better approval ratings at the same point in their presidency than Biden does currently.
Trump, who lost his reelection to Biden in the 2020 presidential election, had a 42.5 percent approval rating on the 1,074th day of his presidency, while Biden currently has a 39.3 percent. The 2024 presidential race is widely expected to be a rematch between Biden and Trump, as Trump is currently leading the Republican primary polls by a large margin.
