(FeaturedNews.com) – Brad Paisley, a country music star, and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley first founded The Store, a toy store in Nashville in 2020. The Store has allowed families in need to pick up groceries in an environment that closely resembles the type of environment that everyday stores offer.
During the holiday season, the store hosts a two-day free Toy Store event where a select number of families are able to pick up free items, including clothing, makeup, and other toy gifts for their children.
In a statement to the Associated Press, Paisley pointed out that there was an emotional aspect to being able to give your children items they wanted, instead of something that would just allow them to get through the holiday season. As he argued, this was helping take the load off the minds of some people who might have not considered that it would be an option for them to do this.
To organize the event, Paisley received assistance from Belmont University, which is Paisley’s alma mater.
Williams-Paisley in her own statement pointed out that there were people who came on hard times and wanted to have a safe welcoming place where they could go. As she argued whether people were volunteers or in need of the services they were providing, the store was a community that united everyone together.
As part of the holiday event, parents would be able to drop off their children at the neighboring church while they shopped and got decorations from the store. A wrapping station has also been added to allow parents to prepare the gifts they choose for the holidays.
