(FeaturedNews.com) – On Monday night, Vice President Harris was in the middle of delivering a holiday party speech at a Christmas party before she was interrupted by Delaware state Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton who was holding up a sign calling for a “cease-fire.” The state Representative also started yelling at the vice President.
Wilson-Anton started off questioning whether Harris was aware that Bethlehem was not celebrating this year as it was “under rubble.” She proceeded to question why Harris was not calling for a cease-fire.
The vice President was quick to cut her off, arguing that while she could see that Wilson-Anton wanted to speak, currently she was the one delivering a speech.
Wilson-Anton proceeded to call for a “cease-fire” as she was being escorted out of the event. A video from the interaction was also shared online.
The majority of lawmakers have opposed the calls for a cease-fire, with a Washington Post op-ed from President Biden including the statement in November that “a cease-fire is not peace.” At the time, Biden had written that so long as Hamas continued to maintain their “ideology of destruction” there would not be peace. He further argued that every cease-fire was just an opportunity for Hamas to recuperate and rebuild their war efforts so that they could start killing innocent civilians again.
Many Democrats including lawmakers and members of the Biden administration had disagreed with the President’s decision, following reports that the President was not considering a cease-fire.
