(FeaturedNews.com) – The Supreme Court is going to be looking into the legal question of whether former President Donald Trump should be allowed to run in 2024.

On Wednesday, the court distributed John Castro v. Donald Trump for the Supreme Court to examine in their upcoming term which is set to start on October 2. The Conference is going to occur on Sep. 26 and a decision on the case is expected by October 9.

Tax attorney and Republican presidential candidate Castro, last month sent his petition to the country’s highest Court in which he asked whether it is possible for a political candidate to question the eligibility of a candidate in the presidential race if they are running in the same party. The lawsuit is ultimately going to be looking into making the argument that section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies Trump from running for a second term in the White House.

That particular section specifically disqualifies anyone who had previously held office and had “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the country from being allowed to run for office again. Castro is presenting Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot as a possible insurrection, however, Trump has not been charged so far with insurrection.

Trump, who has been indicted in four different cases this year, has also pleaded not guilty to all the cases against him and has claimed he committed no wrongdoings. He has also criticized the attempts to have him blocked from appearing on the ballot because of the Constitutional amendment claiming that those in the legal field have already argued that there is “no legal basis” for the use of the Amendment in the 2024 presidential election.
