(FeaturedNews.com) – A new video has emerged showcasing California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s visit to the New College of Florida last week.

The video has quickly gone viral because of Newsom’s behavior, which has been perceived as awkward. The governor in the video can be seen clapping along with students and faculty members of New College of Florida, as the liberal arts college presents a rendition of “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands,” a religious song.

Many of those who have seen the video have pointed out how awkward the situation appears to be.

Christopher Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a contributing writer for City Journal, stated regarding Newsom’s behavior that he was acting like a “kindergartner” during the entirety of the video. He then proceeded to write on Twitter, “Serious Patrick Bateman vibes.”

Others on social media claimed that the behavior exhibited by Newsom was “cringe” and political podcaster James Lindsay in a tweet stated that, “That’s his only vibe.”

During his visit to Florida, Newsom repeatedly made jabs at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and other GOP politicians about their policies and the negative effects they have on people’s lives. The visit was only one stop in Newsom’s planned tour through multiple Republican-led states. During the event at the North Sarasota Public Library, Newsom spoke with about two dozen New College students, faculty, and other members of the community in response to DeSantis’ appointment of six conservative board members to the liberal college.
