(FeaturedNews.com) – Last year, President Joe Biden and his wife First Lady Jill Biden reported a combined income of close to $620K according to their 2023 tax returns which were released on Monday by the White House.
Vice President Harris and her husband were also shown in their tax returns to have made a combined income of $450K.
The documents showed that the first couple had paid around 23.7 percent in federal income tax which amounted to $146,629. The president’s annual salary is $400,000 while Jill Biden, who is working as a Northern Virginia Community College professor, has made $85,985.
The White House noted that this had demonstrated the couple’s commitment to transparency as President Biden has been the U.S. president to release the most tax returns while in Office. They added that Biden has shared a total of 26 years of his tax returns.
Former President Donald Trump, who Biden is going to be facing in a rematch in the 2024 presidential election, had notably refused to release his tax returns in the past. This is a break from the previous precedent as most U.S. Presidents have been willing to share their tax returns.
The first lady and President paid a total of $181,086 in combined federal income taxes in Virginia and Delaware as well as their federal income tax. Reportedly, the first lady had paid $3,549 in income tax in Virginia while paying $30,908 in income tax in Delaware in addition to the federal income tax that the couple had paid.
