(FeaturedNews.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has slammed former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) over her decision to not endorse former President Trump after her withdrawal from the primary race on Wednesday. He also referred to the Republican loyalty pledge that they had previously signed.
During an appearance on Newsmax’s “The Balance” with Eric Bolling, Trump argued that much like him, Haley had signed a pledge about endorsing the Republican nominee, whoever it might have ended up being. He added that he had honored this pledge and that it was up to Haley to decide whether or not she was going to be down the same.
He further pointed out that there has not been any change in the circumstances since they made the pledge and that all of them had known what they were doing when they had done what they did. He added that they needed to make a judgment about what they found meaningful which is why for him it was important to pull through and show people that when he said he was going to do something he was going to do it.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) had mandated that all candidates who wanted to appear on the primary debate stage were required to sign a pledge that they would support whoever ended up being the Republican nominee. This pledge was signed by all other major candidates in the race, including Haley.
However, Trump who had opted to not participate in the debates was never required to sign this pledge.
