(FeaturedNews.com) – Peyton Manning, who in his time in the NFL won multiple awards and even made it to the Hall of Fame, has now received a Sports Emmy. During the Sports Emmy Awards which took place this week, Manning brought home the award for the outstanding personality/event analyst category.
The award was given to Manning for his contributions to ESPN’s “Manningcast,” where he appears along with his brother Eli during “Monday Night Football” broadcasts. Following the win, Payton Manning received many congratulatory messages, but not from his brother Eli.
Instead, his brother did what every little brother knows how to do, by making jokes at his brother’s expense. Eli Manning took to Twitter after his brother’s win to write that he was not aware that one could win an Emmy just for telling the audience that the coaches needed to “call timeout.”
Other nominees in the category included Chris Collinsworth, Bill Raftery, Gary Danielson, and eight-time MLB All-Star John Smoltz.
Both of the Manning brothers have won two Super Bowl championships, but only one can now claim they have an Emmy. The duo is set to continue with their roles on the “Manningcast” after the NFL season picks back up in the fall. Normally, apart from the two hosts, there are many guests who show up for their show including other athletes, musicians, politicians, musicians, and actors.
I did not know you could win an Emmy for just telling fans when coaches should call timeout. https://t.co/cb6rSiXHqj
