(FeaturedNews.com) – A new NPR/ Maris poll showed that the majority of Americans did not want to see former President Donald Trump serving as the U.S. president again.

According to the poll, only 38 percent of national adults would like to see Trump win the 2024 presidential election, while 61 percent said that they would rather not have Trump in office again. Along partisan lines, 76 percent of Republicans, 34 percent of independents, and 11 percent of Democrats would like to see Trump serve again in the White House.

On the other hand, 89 percent of Democrats, 64 percent of independents, and 21 percent of Republicans do not want to see Trump serve another term in office.

The poll also showed that 39 percent of Americans had a favorable view of Trump, this marks a decline of 3 percent since the November poll when his favorability had reached 42 percent. In the summer Trump’s favorability rates had also been 38 percent.

Specifically, 81 percent of Republicans and 37 percent of independents view the former President favorably.

When asked about the probe by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg regarding the hush payment made by his then-attorney to adult film star Stormy Daniels, forty-six percent said that they thought Trump had done something illegal, 29 percent had thought he had done something unethical but not illegal and 23 percent had thought that Trump had not done anything wrong in this case.

Trump was indicted on March 30, with his arraignment scheduled for Tuesday, April 4.
