(FeaturedNews.com) – On Friday night, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson during an appearance on WWE Smackdown, took aim at the opponents. In a song that resembled a skit he had previously performed in 2003, Johnson had taken aim at WrestleMania opponents Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. He also spoke about Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant who is currently facing some off-court struggles, as part of his punch lines.
Johnson in his lyrics argued that he was an embarrassment similar to how Ja Morant had been one when he was “waving a gun.” As he delivered the line the crowd went wild causing Johnson to break character and smile. He then said, “We love you, Ja.”
The comment was referring to Morant’s issue which has caused him to face two league-issued suspensions.
In 2019, Morant had been the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, while in 2020, he had won NBA Rookie of the Year. Two years later, he was recognized as the Most Improved Player. Despite this, he was suspended for the first 25 games this season because he had displayed a firearm on social media.
This is not the first time that he has faced such a suspension; last season he was suspended from eight games because of a similar offense.
An injury earlier this year also resulted in Morant’s season being cut short as he had injured his shoulder during practice. After returning following his second suspension Morant had averaged 25.1 points in nine games.
