(FeaturedNews.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted those Congress members who support former President Donald Trump arguing that they are “listless vessels” who have left behind their conservative principles in favor of supporting Trump.
The Florida governor talked up against all those who refer to him as Republican in Name Only (RINO) arguing that it is important for GOP members to keep to their principles and not to a persona. He added that this would also allow the Republican party to win back the White House in 2024.
During an interview with a local conservative media outlet, DeSantis argued that if everyone was “listless vessels” that only follow whatever is posted on Truth Social each morning then they are not going to be members of a “durable movement.” He added that ultimately a movement should not be focused on a single individual but rather should be focused on benefiting the American people. He added that the movement needed to be based on principle.
DeSantis, who had once been considered Trump’s protégé, has spent the last year in second place in most Republican primary polls. However, recently both former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Vivek Ramaswamy have managed to surpass him in a number of polls.
DeSantis further argued that he does not believe that the majority of the GOP views him as a false actor and that instead these ideas are being perpetuated by a small faction of the Republican party that believes supporting Trump is what determines whether or not you are a RINO.
